Aldila #1 woods, hybrids shaft at Wachovia Championship and Fort Smith Classic

POWAY, Calif. – Whether you were watching the PGA Tour’s Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, N.C., or following the Nationwide Tour’s Fort Smith Classic in Arkansas, odds are you saw a Tour player dialing in a shot with one of Aldila’s shafts in their club. That’s because Aldila was the most popular shaft in both woods and hybrids at both the PGA and Nationwide Tour events.

Tour players put a combined total of 213 Aldila woods shafts and 79 Aldila hybrids shafts in play at the Wachovia Championship and Fort Smith Classic this past week. About 40 percent of all hybrid shafts in play in Charlotte and Fort Smith we’re Aldila performance hybrid shafts.

Aldila’s popularity continues to grow on and off Tour. According to the Darrell Survey U.S. National Consumer Survey Aldila was the leading graphite shaft manufacturer for new drivers, fairway woods and hybrid clubs for 2006.

With the increasing appeal of the high moment of inertia (MOI) drivers, Aldila’s latest shaft, the MOI Protoâ?¢, will only help add to the company’s astounding reputation attained with the VS Protoâ?¢ and NVâ?¢.

High MOI drivers can definitely help a player hit the ball straighter, but not if the shaft of choice can’t handle the added loads imparted by the latest novel designs.

"The new MOI Protoâ?¢ incorporates Aldila’s Micro Laminate Technologyâ?¢ (MLT) and the tapered profile design philosophy first used in the NVâ?¢," said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President Engineering/Product Development. "This means the MOI Protoâ?¢ has great control, power, and stability, but with that silky smooth MLT feel."

Aldila’s MOI Protoâ?¢ will begin shipping to leading OEMs and distributors within the next few weeks.
