NEW YORK, NEW YORK— June 2007 — Bobby Jones, a division of Hickey Freeman Co., Inc, announced that Christian Arkins has joined Bobby Jones as Menswear Director of Design. Arkins will oversee all aspects of design, sourcing, and merchandising for both men’s collections: Bobby Jones Collection and Bobby Jones Players. He is based in the New York City showroom and reports directly to Paulette Garafalo, Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Hickey Freeman and Bobby Jones.
Garafalo stated, "Christian’s presence will be instrumental as Bobby Jones evolves to meet the needs of the next generation of luxury sportswear and golf customers. His exquisite taste level and strong understanding of the men’s fashion business will allow us to make great advances, while staying true to our current core customer."
Previously the Design Director at Original Penguin, Arkins was influential in the creation of both the men’s and women’s collections. He brings with him 8 years of design experience and has also held positions at both J. Crew and Polo Ralph Lauren.
