‘Hottest Shafts in Golf’ post 29th consecutive woods, hybrids count victories


POWAY, Calif. – The winner of the Nationwide Tour Championship at Barona Creek Golf Club outside San Diego, Calif. posted his second win of the season using Aldila’s VS Protoâ?¢ in his driver. With the victory, the 35-year-old Welshman earned $139,500 which catapulted him from sixth place on the money leader list to the top and earned him a full PGA Tour exemption for 2008.
The win was Aldila’s seventh in the last eight events on the Nationwide Tour. The "Hottest Shafts in Golf" also won the wood shaft and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Tour Championship making it an unprecedented 29th consecutive week to win both counts at a Nationwide Tour event.
