Over 85 Percent of Field Relies Upon Titleist Golf Balls for Their Success

Fairhaven, MA (August 10, 2008) – Titleist has long been recognized for its golf ball usage and success across the worldwide professional tours, with club professionals and at every level of competitive golf. As the country’s top women golfers gathered this week at Eugene Country Club in Oregon for their national championship, an overwhelming 133 of the 156 players, more than 85 percent of the field, relied upon Titleist golf balls. That’s more than 16 times the nearest competitor with 8. In addition to its golf ball success, Titleist also was the top choice in the wedge (136) and putter (64) categories.
In fact, it was an all-Titleist golf ball final, with the champion trusting the Pro V1 in a 2 and 1 victory over her Pro V1x-playing opponent. The champion also relied upon the Titleist 983K driver and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter for her success.
The U.S. Women’s Amateur is just the latest major amateur tournament this year at which Titleist golf balls were the prohibitive favorite. Below are the golf ball counts from those events, further proof that Titleist is the overwhelming choice of the future of competitive golf and serious golfers everywhere.
