City of Sacramento Municipal Golf Courses Celebrate Patriot Golf Day

August 26, 2009

On Monday, September 7th, the three City of Sacramento golf courses, Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, Bing Maloney Golf Course and Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course, are going to be celebrating the PGA Initiative, Patriot Golf Day. On that day, current or retired military with valid ID will be allowed to come play our golf courses for free of charge in exchange for a voluntary donation of their choosing to the Folds Of Honor Foundation. Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of those military service members who have been disabled or died as a result of their service. In 2008, Folds of Honor was able to award almost 200 scholarships to these deserving families. Artwork and additional information can be seen at: http://patriotgolfday.com. In addition to the monies raised from the customers, the newly created Morton Golf Foundation (a 501 3c non-profit) will be making a donation to this same fund.

Managed by Morton Golf, the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex is located at 3645 Fulton Avenue in Sacramento (at the Capital City Freeway). For more information, call (916) 481-GOLF.
