Tour Success for The #1 Putter in Golf Continues as Winners on the European and LPGA Tours Use Odyssey Putters

CARLSBAD, Calif., July 2, 2012 – Odyssey®, the #1 Putter in Golf®, announced today that the Odyssey White Ice® Sabertooth® Putter was used to win The Irish Open in Portrush, Northern Ireland on Sunday by four strokes. Odyssey now leads all putter manufacturers with thirteen victories on the European Tour in 2012, more than four times the amount of wins compiled by the nearest competitor. In fact, Odyssey putters have been in the hands of seven out of the last nine European Tour event winners, dating back to the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal on May 13. The #1 Putter in Golf has now claimed 11 worldwide wins since May 13 (eight weeks).

“It’s great to notch another win for Odyssey on the European Tour, where the Brand’s Tour usage and success continues to dominate in 2012,” said Chris Koske, Global Business Director for Odyssey Golf. “Adding an exciting win on the LPGA Tour this weekend as well, Odyssey continues to solidify its position as #1 on Tour, #1 in wins and #1 when it counts most.”

The winner of Irish Open at Royal Portrush GC, who claimed his first professional victory on Sunday, dominated the putting green throughout the tournament with his Odyssey White Ice Sabertooth Putter. He averaged just 1.479 putts per Greens in Regulation (GIR) and averaged an impressive 25.3 putts per round. Both statistics led the star-studded field at Royal Portrush. Overall usage of Odyssey putters topped 44 percent at the event, more than double the percentage of the Brand’s nearest competitor.

The winner of the LPGA 2012 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship used an Odyssey White Hot XG® Teron® putter in her victory on Sunday, her second of the season and the ninth of her professional career. Carding a 6-under 65 and finishing with a smooth birdie putt, she averaged just 27.6 putts per round. She now leads the LPGA in overall putting average with just 28.36 putts per round with her Odyssey putter.
