IRVINE, CA – October 12, 2012 – FOURTEEN GOLF, the recognized leader in wedge design with 47 worldwide professional tour victories since the 2010 golf season, announced today that a Gateway Touring Professional won the Gateway Q-School Challenge playing FOURTEEN GOLF wedges at Encanterra Country Club, in Queen Creek, Arizona.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “The Gateway Tour is a terrific tour that fosters the growth of potential golfing professionals. We have representation on this burgeoning tour as well as several others because we know that these programs do develop their players. We will continue to support this professional who played lights out last weekend and hope for his continued success.”
The Gateway Q-School Challenge features three 54-hole tournaments from September through October in the greater Phoenix area. It awards money and Q-School bonuses through an aggregate “Points Race” system. The two top cumulative point leaders at the end of the series will receive the bonus payouts.
One Gateway Golf Professional who earned 2,000 points at the Gateway Q-School Challenge played three FOURTEEN GOLF Wedges; 48, 54, and 60-degrees. “He uses these wedges to set himself up for birdies and it works. This talented golfer is #1 in birdies with 21 accumulated over the season,” added Kamoda.
FOURTEEN GOLF had both the company’s new RM-11 and MT-28 V5 Wedges in play at the Gateway Q-School Challenge.
The FOURTEEN GOLF RM-11 Wedge received its name from the measurement of “revolutions per minute.” The enlarged grooves impart such exceptional spin and rotational speed that the design team thought the name was fitting.
The FOURTEEN GOLF RM-11 Wedge feature larger grooves that translate to maximum spin with exceptional control. The new USGA conforming FOURTEEN GOLF trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to its predecessor. This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots. These new grooves have been tested on the PGA Tour and the Pros all agreed, the RM-11 Wedges with their soft feeling head combined with uniquely shaped larger grooves provide extraordinary control, incomparable spin and precision like accuracy.
FOURTEEN GOLF is a burgeoning golf equipment company that takes great pride in their tour program. This year FOURTEEN GOLF officially signed
Japanese golfing prodigy and PGA Professional Ryuji Imada to a three year endorsement deal which includes a staff bag, head covers, hat, umbrella and wedges. He joins FOURTEEN GOLF team members PGA Professionals Chad Collins and Arjun Atwal.
