LAKE MARY, FL (April 8, 2013) – Golf equipment technology has been a hot debate topic over recent months. Putter length and golf ball distance are two subjects that bring out the opinions of industry executives and consumers across the golfing globe.

Attendees of 23rd Annual ING Spring Conference will hear two of the game’s leading technology experts discuss all areas of golf club technology during the Monday morning educational sessions. That is one of three educational seminar choices on the first full day of the conference, scheduled for May 19-23 at Reunion Resort in Orlando.

Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf, where media and the golf industry connect. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual networking and educational conference.

As part of the ING’s “Customize Your Conference Experience” theme, attendees will choose to attend two of the three educational seminars on Monday of the conference. Three 45-minute sessions will run side by side, starting at 10:15 a.m. They will be repeated at 11:15 a.m., thus allowing attendees to hear from two of the three panels.

One of the topics focuses on how golf equipment is constantly changing, the effects it has on the game, and the role of the USGA in policing technology.

Toulon is the Executive Vice President at TaylorMade-adidas Golf. Since 2000 he has spearheaded the creation of exceptional clubs that have helped raise the brand back to prominence both in the marketplace and on the world’s professional golf tours.

Since introducing the metalwood to golf back in the ’80s, TaylorMade has been the leader in club technology. The hot model over the past year has been the Rocketballz drivers and fairway woods, and the RocketBladez irons.

For 26 years Thomas was Technical Director of the USGA, where he assembled and directed one of golf’s most-advanced research teams, introduced the GHIN handicap system, and redesigned and introduced the Stimpmeter to the world of golf. He also has served as chief technical advisor to Golf Digest and The Golf Channel, helping golfers understand more about golf equipment technology.

Since he co-founded Frankly Golf in 2000 he has spent most of his time researching putting, building a state of the art instructional facility The Frankly Putting PAD (Performance, Analysis, Development) and creating the Certified Putting Instructor (CPI)Course for PGA professionals. He has authored three golf equipment and technology books and most recently a putting instruction book, The Fundamentals of Putting.

The panel will be moderated by Steve Pike, golf writer and editor of GearEffectGolf.com.

The other two educational panels focus on Wellness For Golf and Social Media Marketing.

The ING Spring Conference features four days of product presentation, networking, education, golf and business-building opportunities.

The highlights:

1) The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show has expanded to two days. This is a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships.

2) The Demo Lab will feature companies large and small displaying their latest equipment and training gear on the practice range and green. Several companies will be launching new products at the Demo Lab.

3) Education and self-improvement programs galore.

4) Three golf tournaments, including the ING Qualifier for the World Golfers Association Tour Championship National Finals.

5) Lots of networking events.

Those interested in attending may do so by visiting www.inggolf.com and clicking on Spring Conference. An electronic registration process is available.
