LAKE MARY, FL (April 24, 2013) – Fitness for the mind, body and soul will be discussed in one of three educational seminars on the first full day of the 23rd Annual ING Spring Conference, set for May 19-23 at Reunion Resort in Orlando.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf, where media and the golf industry connect. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual networking and educational conference.
As part of the ING’s “Customize Your Conference Experience” theme, attendees will choose to attend two of the three educational seminars on Monday of the conference. Three 45-minute sessions will run side by side, starting at 10:15 a.m. They will be repeated at 11:15 a.m., thus allowing attendees to hear from two of the three panels.
One of the topics focuses on tips to help attendees become more physically and mentally fit. And leading the discussion will be experts from various fitness segments.
Charlotta Sorenstam, Director of Golf Operations at the ANNIKA Academy at Reunion, will focus on the importance of being physically fit on the golf course. Since 2007, Sorenstam has been with the ANNIKA Academy, owned by her sister Annika Sorenstam, a Hall Of Fame golfer. Charlotta is a full-time active Callaway Club fitter. During her 17-year LPGA career she recorded two victories. She was an All-American and an NCAA Champion at the University of Texas.
Dr. Kevin Roby will serve up tips on being mentally prepared to play improved golf. A licensed psychologist based in Las Vegas, Roby has been providing mental skills training to golfers and other athletes for the past 13 years. His clients have competed at every level, from junior competitions through PGA Tour events. He has also presented his “Golf: Mental Skills Training For Great Play” seminars to hundreds of golfers, including members of the Southwest Section of the PGA.
A.J. Ali will be speaking on “nourishing the body and soul.” Ali is a wellness-focused writer & TV host, and the Founder of Golf To End Cancer, a nonprofit initiative promoting wellness and cancer prevention throughout the U.S. He is co-author of “The True Champion’s 30-Day Challenge,” a book helping people take their life to another level in mind, body and spirit. He collaborated with SCNS Sports Foods to create the Marathon of Miracles line of all-natural energy bars.
The other two educational panels focus on Golf Club Technology and Social Media Marketing.
