The Japan Golf Tour held their 81st PGA Championship in Chiba and it was won by a player using a SuperStroke Slim 3.0. The 2-time Japan Golf Tour winner came back from 9 strokes down on Sunday to win by one stroke. His front-nine 29 put the 33-year-old in control for his first major championship victory.
Windy conditions proved to be just part of the challenge for the players at TPC Four Seasons Resort but SuperStroke grips were used to earn 4 top-25 finishes for the week on the PGA Tour. The highest finish came from a former Arizona Wildcat, using a Mid Slim 2.0. The 32-year-old shot a Sunday 66, highlighted by a Strokes-Gained of 2.877, jumping up 41 places to a tie for 12th. The University of Arizona grad finished the week 9th in putts per GIR, earning his best finish in 2013.
Back-to-back weeks with wins in Japan continue to boost worldwide presence for SuperStroke Golf. The win total is now up to 4 in 2013 with the previous two being the WGC-Accenture Match Play and the Zurich Classic.
