Fairhaven, MA (May 27, 2013) – Just a month removed from his 20th birthday, Titleist Brand Ambassador Matteo Manassero became the youngest player ever to win the prestigious BMW PGA Championship, doing it in dramatic fashion with a birdie on the fourth hole of a three-man playoff.
Trusting the Pro V1x golf ball and a full bag of Titleist equipment from tee-through-green, Manassero closed with a pair of 3-under par 69’s on the weekend to join the playoff at 10-under par 278. It marked Manassero’s fourth career European Tour title, one each year since 2010 when he first won at age 17.
Manassero topped a world-class field of 150 players at the BMW PGA Championship, 86 (57%) of whom relied upon a Titleist golf ball at one of the European Tour’s most coveted events. Year-to-date, over 66% (1,653) of all players on the 2013 European Tour have relied upon Titleist golf balls, more than five times the nearest competitor with 313.
