The 2013 WGC-Accenture Match Play champion has now won multiple times in a year for the first time after claiming the title at Muirfield Village. Holding the 54-hole lead for the second-straight week, the Georgia Tech grad carded a final round 68 to grab his second victory of the year. He was brilliant on the greens with his 21″ SuperStroke grip in the arm-lock position, finishing the week 2nd in both birdies (20) and strokes-gained (1.820). This win in Dublin has jumped the 35-year old to 4th in the Official World Golf Ranking and 2nd in the FedEx cup standings.
SuperStroke non-tapered putter grips were also used by 2 other players finishing in the top-5. Earning a 3rd place finish was the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open winner using his SuperStroke Slim 3.0. “I would have shot a million this week if I didn’t make putts. So I’m really happy about that,” the Washington native said after the tournament. Taking home a share of 4th for the second consecutive week was a 2-time PGA Tour winner from Massachusetts. The 2012 True South Classic champion used his SuperStroke Ultra Slim 1.0 to finish first in both putts per GIR (1.532) and birdies (22).
Add another $2 million to the player money total and SuperStroke putter grips have now been used to earn over $22 million on the PGA Tour this year.
