It’s the second consecutive major title and third overall victory of 2013 for Park, who is currently the No.1 ranked player in the world. After ending regulation play in a two-way tie for the lead at 5-under-par 283, the 24-year-old sunk an 18-foot birdie putt on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff to clinch the win. This victory continues an outstanding stretch of golf that began at last year’s Wegmans LPGA Championship – since then, Park has played 26 LPGA events and recorded six wins, six runner-up efforts and 18 total top-10 finishes.
“It feels so good. I didn’t know that was I going to be able to do it today,” said Park. “Putting my name on the Wegmans LPGA Championship trophy just means so much to me.”
