PGA Professionals Aiming For Club Car’s New Precedent 4Fun At Professional National Championship

Augusta, Ga., June 19, 2013 – In addition to the Walter Hagen Cup and a spot in the 2013 PGA Championship, a PGA professional could leave the Sunriver Resort, site of the 46th PGA Professional National Championship, June 23-26, with one other prize. An ace on the 17th hole at the Crosswater course will earn him a Club Car Precedent 4Fun golf car.

Matt Dobyns, the head professional at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, N.Y., knows it’s possible. In the third round of last year’s event at the Bayonet Black Horse course in Seaside, Calif., Dobyns aced the 14th hole to win a Club Car Precedent i2 golf car. Dobyns went on to win the tournament, the showcase event for PGA professionals.

The Precedent 4Fun, which was introduced at the PGA Merchandise Show in January, is the first four-passenger vehicle designed specifically for golf and fun. The vehicle will help courses make the golf experience more enjoyable for families, couples, women, juniors and seniors by keeping players more connected during the round.

The new vehicle is being piloted in cooperation with the PGA of America at courses that have established Get Golf Ready programs. Get Golf Ready is the golf industry’s grow-the-game initiative designed to attract new players and bring former golfers back to the sport.

The Precedent 4Fun features front-facing seats for four passengers along with attachments for four golf bags, including junior-sized bags; additional cup holders and a rear passenger hip restraint.

This year’s event continues a longstanding relationship between Club Car and the PGA of America. Club Car has been a presenting sponsor of the Professional National Championship since 1997 and has been involved with the tournament as a sponsor since 1993.

“We believe PGA Professionals are golf’s finest ambassadors, and we applaud their many contributions to the game and business of golf,” said Club Car President and CEO Marc Dufour.
