Three Golfers Ace The Same Hole At Palmetto Hall Plantation Club

Three golfers make holes-in-one from the blue tees on hole number eight of the Robert Cupp Course

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, a Heritage Golf Group property on Hilton Head Island, SC, had three golfers make a hole-in-one from the blue tees on the eighth hole of the Robert Cupp Course on Sunday, October 19th, 2014.

What are the odds that three holes-in-one happen on the same course, in the same day, on the same hole from the same tees? Well, let’s just say the odds are pretty high or roughly the same chances as winning the Powerball lottery. The odds of making a hole-in-one, for an average player, are roughly 12,500-1. The odds of two people acing the same hole on the same day are in the 17,000,000-1 range. Add in odds of making a hole-in-one from the same tees and you have a remarkably rare event indeed.

During The Amateur Golf Tour Championship, sponsored by GolfWeek, Daren Green of the Raleigh-Pinehurst Tour holed out from the blue tees on the Robert Cupp Course on hole number eight. In the foursome immediately following Green, Jose Talamantes, Downeast Tour (Eastern NC cities), stepped up to swing at the same par-three hole and also hit an ace from 130 yards. Later in the afternoon, JPGA player André Scopone also made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.

General Manager of Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, Dan Moscar said, “We generally have a hand full of holes-in-one annually, but to have three is one day is unbelievable! In all my years in the industry, I have never had two holes-in-one in one day, let alone three.” For more information about Palmetto Hall Plantation Club or to participate in or sponsor our upcoming events contact our General Manager, Dan Moscar, at (843) 342-2582.
