(Richmond, VA – October 1, 2015) As corporate sponsor of the 2015 National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) Mid-Atlantic annual meeting held earlier this week in Havre de Grace, Maryland, IBS Club Software was honored to present two prestigious awards at the association’s third annual Innovation Awards program – the Private Golf Leader and the Public Golf Leader Awards.
The Private Golf Leader Award, given in recognition of a private club for outstanding marketing or member recruitment programs, went to Brandermill Country Club and owner Mike Hatch of Acumen Golf. Independence Golf Club and owner Giff Breed received the Public Golf Leader Award, recognizing similar achievements by a public access facility.
In presenting the awards, Alan Nicolette, Director of Implementation and Service at IBS Club Software, recognized the clubs and their owners for innovation in club promotion and member/community involvement in programming. Illustrating those efforts are Independence’s “Country Club for a Day” philosophy, supporting enhanced facilities and entertainment extending beyond the realm of golf. An emphasis on fun and special amenities for members supports Brandermill’s success with fundraising activities benefiting the membership and improvements to the club’s facilities.
The Mid-Atlantic Golf Leader Award was given to Don Ryder, recently retired director of golf at the Omni Homestead Hotel, in recognition of “leadership in the golf industry in the Mid-Atlantic, as evidenced by long-term business achievement and/or service to the industry.”
