Tournament brings on-line community together with proceeds benefitting the Oldershaw Foundation

COSTA MESA, CA – On October 5, 2017 — Cut Golf held their inaugural golf tournament, the Cut Golf Invitational, at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, CA. The Cut Golf Invitational raised funds to support the Oldershaw Foundation in honor of its late Founder David Oldershaw.

David Oldershaw, an avid golfer and promoter of the game, was the inspiration behind the Cut Golf Invitational. Prior to his passing in August 2017, David helped spearhead the tournament and looked forward to competing.

“David was a guy who played golf and fought cancer,” says Cut Golf Founder Sam Uisprapassorn. “From the moment I met him on the driving range, I was moved to help him with his fight against stage 4 cancer. I’m pleased that this year’s tournament served as a tribute to David, an exceptional friend, father and golfer. He was with us in spirit, and we are honored to be donating proceeds from this year’s Cut Invitational to the Oldershaw Foundation.”

The Cut Invitational brought out a sizeable attendance of various Social Media influencers across the United States, all of whom share the same passion for the sport of golf. Notable attendees included @coach_rusty, @karinhart, @coloradogolfblog, @idaleeeo, @Golfballed, @the_buttsy, @BradleyPutters, @2Girls1hole, @RileyLowry, @lindseycartwright, @jt_laybourne, @seff.bates, and @kaleycotnoir.

52 Golfers of all skill levels competed in a 13-team scramble. Team NextLinks won the tournament with a score of 53. NextLinks and Real Tee Golf kicked off the tournament week by hosting a VIP event at their Santa Ana indoor golf experience showroom.

Additional event sponsors included Electric, Sir Hiss Alot, Thirty6ix Golf, Oak & Anchor, Bradley Putters, Birdicorn, and Selfie Golf.

“The Cut Golf Invitational served as a platform for awareness and community,” said Sam. “From California to Florida, we attracted a variety of players and brought together groups of passionate golf influencers that typically only exist online. Together over several days, we collaborated, inspired one another, and supported both the Oldershaw Foundation and the game of golf. We would like to thank everyone who participated and look forward to growing the success of the tournament.”

ABOUT THE OLDERSHAW FOUNDATION

The Oldershaw Foundation is a non-profit that was created out of a situation of adversity. We had only been married for a year and a half when David was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. When faced with no alternatives to chemotherapy, we began to research. What we found were several holistic alternatives, with hefty price tags. The goal of this organization is to help people who want to choose their own course of treatments, without the hindrance of price. The Oldershaw Foundation was created to empower people with the financial ability to choose their own healing.
