Event on January 24, 2026, at Wekiva Golf Club Will Raise Funds for 2026 Scholarship Recipients
LONGWOOD, FL – The Breakthrough Golf Alliance, formerly known as the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, is proud to announce its inaugural Alliance Cup Charity Scramble, presented by Taino Golf, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Wekiva Golf Club in Longwood, Florida. This landmark event will kick off a year-long journey of support for five exceptional young golfers who have been selected as 2026 scholarship recipients.
Meet the 2026 Scholarship Recipients
The Breakthrough Golf Alliance is honored to support the following talented golfers throughout 2026:
- Ava Saavedra (Orlando, FL)
- Keishlyan Vega (Puerto Rico)
- Luz Melendez (Tampa, FL)
- Brevin Bennett (Norwich, NY)
- Winter Park Boys Golf Team (Winter Park, FL)
These promising young athletes have demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication to the sport but face financial barriers that could prevent them from reaching their full potential. Through comprehensive support including tournament entry fees, equipment, coaching, travel expenses, and mentorship from PGA Professional Brendon Elliott, the Breakthrough Golf Alliance aims to ensure that financial constraints never stand between exceptional talent and success.
“We firmly believe that talent, dedication, and passion—rather than economic circumstances—should determine a young golfer’s potential for success in the sport,” said Coach Brendon R. Elliott, PGA. “These five recipients represent the future of golf, and we’re committed to providing them with every opportunity to showcase their abilities and pursue their dreams.”
A Partnership Rooted in Culture and Inclusivity
The Alliance Cup Charity Scramble is presented by Taino Golf, a brand that celebrates the intersection of culture and sport. Founded by a family of four with deep roots in Taino heritage and a passion for golf, Taino Golf creates apparel that embodies the essence of Familia and Tradición while demonstrating that anyone, regardless of background, can embrace the sport.
“This partnership represents a shared vision of inclusivity and cultural celebration in golf,” Elliott explained. “Like the Breakthrough Golf Alliance, Taino Golf is committed to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for all young golfers. Together, we’re proving that golf is a sport for everyone.”

The Breakthrough Golf Alliance Mission
The Breakthrough Golf Alliance evolved from the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, which was founded in 2010 as a youth sports 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the Amateur Athletic Union. Throughout its history, the organization received support from golf legends, including Jack Nicklaus and PGA Tour champion Keegan Bradley, as well as organizations such as the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.
In early 2025, the organization separated from the AAU to establish independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, allowing for a refined focus on its evolved mission. In May 2025, the organization officially adopted the DBA “The Breakthrough Golf Alliance,” reflecting its commitment to breaking through financial barriers that prevent exceptional talent from flourishing.
Today, the Breakthrough Golf Alliance focuses specifically on supporting talented golfers aged 13 and above who have demonstrated exceptional promise but lack the financial resources to compete effectively or showcase their abilities. Through targeted support, resources, and opportunities, the organization helps promising young athletes overcome financial barriers and pursue their golfing aspirations.
“Our journey reflects our unwavering commitment to nurturing young golf talent and breaking down the barriers that often prevent promising athletes from reaching their full potential,” Elliott said. “The Alliance Cup Charity Scramble represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our organization and for these five incredible young golfers.”
