One half of the year is over and it has been a rough and tumble year for all of us in the golf industry. Just when we were all looking forward to a strong finish to the second decade of the New Millennium, the industry was hit by a virus which eventually became the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic. This virus attack caused golf clubs throughout Asia to go into a state of lockdown which has resulted in huge financial losses for the industry.
Lasting for months, it crippled golf clubs and forced golfers into a self-imposed state of hibernation. Fortunately, the worst of the pandemic seems to be over offering the industry a chance to bounce back. The July edition of ASIAN GOLF is devoted to the BIG BOUNCE BACK of clubs throughout the region and it is hoped that this start-up will not be shut down again. It is heartening to note that the start-up is being conducted with caution and with strict observance of the protocols that are in place in various countries.
