Many Courses Choosing Gallus Golf for COVID-19 Related Solutions

San Diego, CA -Gallus Golf has been working quickly with a number of courses who are realizing that social distancing and commerce can be made much easier with technology that is already in the hands of their customers. Mobile phones that are typically only handled by their owners are providing a long list of solutions, and Gallus is delivering them in a custom branded fashion. In just the last few days the Golf Club at Fleming Island, Jefferson Golf Course, Quail Ridge CC, The Hermitage, Cypress Tree at Maxwell Air Force Base, The Course at Andrews on Andrews Air Force Base, The Tanglewood Club, and San Juan Hills CC have all added a custom-branded mobile app from Gallus Golf.

Tee Time Check-In and Payment

Gallus Golf and Club Prophet Systems were among the world’s leaders in providing this technology for their common customers, introducing this feature mid-year 2019. It allows the course to accept payment right through the mobile app and have the check-in appear instantly on their tee sheet. The check-in process can be completed without the golfer entering the golf-shop, helping to limit close contact with others.

The two tech companies have gone one step further amid the COVID-19 crisis and are now allowing all Club Prophet customers this solution in a web-based model during the time we are fighting this virus as a collective public. Gallus has helped build this so it will work for courses that do not yet have their own app.

“Working in conjunction with the amazing team at Gallus Golf, we all felt it was critically important to expand our existing technology quickly and help our golf course partners stay open and safe”, said Tom Robshaw, President of Club Prophet. “Both companies moved rapidly to help our golf courses, and we are ‘all hands on deck’ to help every golf course during these unprecedented times.”

In addition, Gallus is working with courses to also implement solutions in a custom branded fashion that can accept payment in a variety of other ways including even solutions like Venmo and Paypal, but also giving that course all of the other features a custom app provides.

Click to Order Food and Beverage

A couple of years ago Gallus Golf introduced onTap, a module within the apps they build to allow customers of the course and its restaurants and F&B outlets to accept orders and payments from customers. This feature sends orders right from customers’ phones to the kitchens to prep them, and the payments directly to the courses’ banks.

Communication

Gallus Golf has always had the ability to send push notification communications out to the mobile app users of courses, but in recent years Geofence notifications and highly segmented notifications have been added.  A course can send a message to a specific individual or group of people as it chooses. Those messages are then interactive and the customer when receiving the message can be directed to any interaction the course chooses to send them to, even offering the ability to share those messages via text message or even social media with their friends.

Scoring

The Gallus Golf Virtual Caddie provides golfers touchscreen GPS, shot distance tracking, playing tips, and scoring capabilities, all right there on the individual’s phone. The scoring capabilities are becoming particularly popular because a scorecard can be shared, and the game the foursome is playing (skins, stroke, etc) can be kept in net and gross formats with full social distancing in place, and no exchange of paper scorecards or pencils from the shop staff.

Then at the end of the round, the golfer is integrated to the World Handicap system to post his/her score directly.

So Much More…

Creativity amongst Gallus customers is at an all-time high in finding ways to utilize the tech at their courses right now, and more is on the way from Gallus as their team works feverishly behind the scenes right now to help courses find additional paths to continue to thrive during this time.

Nicole Roost of Jefferson Golf Course says they chose Gallus Golf during this challenging time because, “the abilities we gain to reach our league players, have scoring features all players can share via the app, make some additional revenue by selling sponsorships in the app to other local businesses, and market the course right on customers’ phones all have made partnering with Gallus an easy decision at any time, but now especially.”
